July Holidays: Monday 6th - Friday 17th July

Week One: Monday 6th- Thursday 9th July: Matariki Week

Matariki is the Māori name for the Pleiades star cluster. It’s reappearance in the predawn sky marks Te Mātahi o te Tau, The Māori New Year. It is a time for communities to gather, honour loved ones who have passed, celebrate the present and plan for the future.

Monday 6 July

Matariki Baking: Star Creations
Bake and Decorate your own starry sweet treat then send it into a black hole *wink wink*eat it*!

Tuesday 7 July

Trip: Gamestarted & Gymsport
Test your nimble feet and quick thinking at Laser Tag, Laser Maze & The Floor is Lava then shake, stretch, wiggle and jiggle it all out at Gymsports.

Marton children are required to be at ASK by 8.30am, we expect to return by 4pm
Palmy children are required to be at ASK by 9.00am, we expect to return by 3pm

Onsite: Flax Stars & Plaster Stars
Weave your own flax stars and paint your own plaster stars to keep!

Wednesday 8 July

Matariki Shared Lunch & Dress Up & Wearable Arts
Dress up in your Matariki Inspired outfit and bring along a plate of kai to share. Prizes for best outfits and on point "feastables"! Don’t worry if you don’t have a costume you can make one for the wearable arts portion of the day.

Thursday 9 July

Trip: Chipmunks (Under 12)/Cave (Over 8) + Globe - Beauty & The Beast Manawatu Youth Theatre
A gaston-omic amount of fun and a beastly good time! Socks REQUIRED for chipmunks.

Marton children are required to be at ASK by 8.15am, we expect to return by 4pm
Palmy children are required to be at ASK by 9.00am, we expect to return by 3pm

"Van Gogh" up a Matariki masterpiece for your home!

Monday 13 July
Winter Party Games
Chase away the winter blues and Party with ASK. Join us for some classic party games, balloons, musical chairs etc and get fresh with some ice games!

Tuesday 14 July

Trip: Go Zone Masterton + Ice-cream or Hot Choc
Climb, bounce, slide and play - Time to go, Go, GO! Trampolines, Multi-level structures and Donut Slide, then chill out and relax with a hot chocolate or ice-cream before we head back to ASK. Grip Socks REQUIRED for GoZone.

Marton children are required to be at ASK by 8am, we expect to return by 5.00pm
Palmy children are required to be at ASK by 9.00am, we expect to return by 4.00pm

Onsite: Snow Globes/Crystal Snow in a Jar
A dash of science and a whole lot of imagination, make your own glittery winter wonderland in a jar.

Wednesday 15 July

WinterFest Market Day
Bring item/s to sell - Baking, Treats, Crafts, Old Toys or services to offer - hair styling/facepaint, nail polish, etc.
Or an act to put on - Magic tricks? Comedy set? Puppet Show?
Set up your stall and buy & sell at our Winter Fair
Everyone will be given ASK Play Money to spend at the stalls.

Post Market Auction - Children can bid for items using the money they made from their stalls.

Thursday 16 July
Trip: Swimming at The Lido and a Movie ( at Events Cinema) with Popcorn & Fizzy. The movie will be decided closer to the time. This is one of our most popular trips, so book early to ensure a place!

Marton Children required to be at ASK by 8.15am, expected return before 4.30pm.
Palmy Children required to be at ASK by 9.00am, expected return before 4pm.

Onsite: Winter Art & Craft
Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow! Make your own Snowflakes, Snowmen, Snow Angels, Snow creations to take home.

Friday 17 July

PJ Party Day with a Shared Lunch - bring along a plate or packet of food to share, prizes for winter whimsy .. snowy treats, melty snowmen, cozy firesides. We will be making our own hot Chocolate Bombs & Pancakes to snuggle down for the afternoon.
